Grand Canyon Sunrise

My last two posts were taken less than 12 hours apart, but I’ve been so busy that I haven’t been able to go through these.  This is my last post from the Grand Canyon series.  I was only there for a short weekend, which left a sunset and a sunrise.  I came away with a couple of shots from both that I like a lot!

Sunrise at the Grand Canyon is something everyone should see at least once in their life!  The pre dawn light and the way the colors slowly light up are simply amazing.

The shot came out a little dark so I brightened the exposure a little bit in Lightroom.  But I really liked the early morning light and dark contrast in the colors.

This was my personal favorite from the morning shoot.  I like the shadow contrast and spots of sun that begin to light up the canyon walls.

This isn't a particular great photograph, but I did like the sun rays peeking behind the clouds and canyon rim silhouetted.

Who's that guy?

3 Image HDR, f/16, 1/30-1/20-1/13 sec, ISO 100

This was one of those shots that I really didn't notice until I was almost finished going through all of them.  I thought this HDR captured the depth and details of the canyon well and liked the sun rays coming in from the top right.

Love the way this turned out in Black & White!
