One of the most exhilarating parts of our trip was the doors off helicopter ride over the island of Kauai. This was our first time to Kauai and within a few hours we knew we would return! Kauai is one of the prettiest places on Earth that we have visited! Sarah (and maybe me) were a little nervous at first about riding on a helicopter with no doors. But everything I read said this was the absolute best way to photograph the island, and they were right! Within a few minutes, we forgot the doors were off (except the wind), and were completely immersed in the flight.
I took 519 pictures on the one-hour tour over Kauai. Somehow I was able to narrow it down to less than 60 of my favorites. I’ve posted a few memorable ones here on the blog as well as my www.russellhaddock.com gallery and Facebook site.

Welcome to Jurassic Park! This is the waterfall from Jurassic Park when they first arrive on the island.
You can't see all of it in this picture, but the rainbow actually made a complete circle - never ending. We saw two of these rainbows on the flight - very awesome!
