Chiricahua National Monument, AZ

After leaving a meeting in Safford, AZ I headed back to Tucson for the night. Along the way I passed a sign for the Chiricahua National Monument and decided to detour. Definitely glad I did. The storm coming in over the horizon made these excellent conditions for black and white photography.

They call Chiricahua the "Land of Rocks."  This pictures definitely shows why.

Saw this view on the way down - fortunately for the snow fall the roads were empty so I could easily pull over and take the picture....without causing traffic problems.  This is looking out over the Coronado National Forest towards Mexico.

Driving out of Chiricahua felt like I was in the middle of nowhere.  When I looked down and realized that I was almost out of....I thought that could be a problem.   Called this picture "The Road to Nowhere but hopefully Somewhere"
