We visited Rocky Mountain National Park on Friday afternoon. I've been here a few times - but the girls never had. Sarah had to stay in the car most of the time with her broken ankle. We were able to hike about 2 miles - but the snowfall was still pretty heavy on the trails.

This summer I had visited Alberta Falls but this time it was completely frozen. This particular hike was about 2 miles round trip. The girls were troopers but Anna Claire got very tired...had to be carried.

Ashlyn and I woke up at 6:00 to catch the sunrise in the park. I was actually shocked she woke up but she did. We spent about 3 hours in the park on the morning of the 14th (Anna Claire's Birthday) and took lots of pictures. Ashlyn brought her camera too.

We timed the elk perfectly this morning. Were watching them from a distance and realized that the direction they were heading would have them crossing the road. We drove back to the spot and sure enough a few minutes later, 11 elk crossed the road.
