Altesino Winery, Italy

We took a tour of the facility with a tasting at the end.  And of course ended up bringing some back.  Our new favorite wine is a Brunello di Montalcino!

Montalcino, Tuscany, Italy

We stayed in a Bed and Breakfast in the small town of Montalcino for our Tuscany excursion.  Not the largest car for 5 of us, but we made it work.

Montalcino is an awesome town!  Definitely an area we would like to return.

We took the recommendation of our host on a restaurant, and ended up eating there both nights.  We figured since she was Italian and that's where she eats...it must be good.  It was.

As much as I would love to know what a 2000 Euro (roughly $2,700) bottle of wine taste like....I never will.

Homemade breakfast was a very nice change!  Fresh fruit, omelets, and blood orange juice from Sicily.

Some of the best gelato on the trip...

And without a doubt....the best wine!

The Castello Banfi was a great choice - brought some of this home.

Walking around Montalcino before dinner one night....somebody might have been throwing a little temper tantrum...
